IMMERSE YOURSELF Nobu Hotel London Portman Square has teamed up with abstract artist Matt Jukes and Japanese spirit brand House of Suntory to create an immersive art and cocktail experience. An AI camera will capture viewers’ facial expressions and turn their emotions into a piece of art, followed by an inspired cocktail. The idea is to reflect positively on the year ahead: ideal for beating the mid-month blues – but not so great for dry January. Cocktails £15; prints £25, until Jan 31 (londonportman.nobuhotels.com)

HOT HOTEL Landing in Lisbon this month is the latest outpost of hip French hotel group Mama Shelter. The design, though resolutely modern, celebrates Portugal’s heritage, with TVs framed in local cork and carpets inspired by Azulejos tiles. Head to the rooftop bar and restaurant to watch the sun set over the River Tagus with the digital nomads who decamped to the capital during the pandemic. Rooms from £75 (mamashelter.com)
