Where should our organic pound go?
*Eat seasonally, as produce will be more plentiful, helping economy of scale. *Eat a more diverse diet, with less meat and dairy overall, so you can afford higher quality, better welfare when you do. *Try different cuts of meat – popular cuts command higher prices; but other cuts are often tastier. *Try to go organic with basics like milk and yoghurt. *Stock up on organic essentials with long expiry dates – with items like beans and pasta, prices can often be the same as non-organic. *Organic meat and dairy comes from animals that have not been not given antibiotics preventatively; organic salads and vegetables will not have been sprayed with pesticides and fertilisers.
