WRITE YOUR HAPPY ENDING
Now take a moment to write
down what a happy life looks like for you. Imagine you’re on your deathbed. Looking back, what are the three most important things you will want to have done in order to feel happy and
content? This is an incredibly useful exercise as it helps give you a 30,000ft view on the direction of
your life.
Understanding these big life goals will help you to shape
your daily and weekly Happiness Habits. For me, I’ll be happy at the end of my life if I’ve contributed to the wellbeing of others; spent undistracted time with my friends and family; and had time to focus on activities that I’m passionate about. So, on a weekly basis, if I manage to record an episode of my podcast, have regular
sit-down meals with my family and find time to play my guitar or a bit of snooker, I know that I’m living more intentionally and moving in
the right direction.
