Blair banks on expanding his empire

-

TONY BLAIR has amassed a reputed £30million fortune since he was forced out of Downing Street. The former prime minister may, however, have found just the man to make him richer still. He has appointed David Lyon, a banker who has spent the past 15 years with Barclays, to join his company Tony Blair Associates.

A spokesman says Lyon will “grow and develop Tony Blair’s business activities”.

Naturally, there is a moral dimension to Blair’s money-making. “These commercial interests provide important funding for his charitable work.”
