Prince reunited with childhood nursery nurse

-

THE Prince of Wales has been reunited with his doting former nursery nurse on his tour of New Zealand.

During a visit to the Cawthron Institute in Nelson, the Prince was presented to Jacqui Botting, 94, who held a card that had been signed by a young Charles and his siblings, the Princess Royal and the Duke of York.

He affectionately touched her on the arm as they briefly reminisced, and asked whether she was keeping well.

Mrs Botting is believed to have worked at Clarence House, where the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh lived soon after the Prince was born in November 1948.

They moved there with Charles and Anne in 1949 and remained until 1952.

Earlier in the day, the Duchess of Cornwall found herself dwarfed by two models in unusual outfits when she visited a museum dedicated to weird and wonderful wearable art creations entered into an annual competition.

Lucy Aitchison, 27, was wearing a “frockatoo”, a revealing dress made of cockatoo feathers, with birds’ heads on her chest and a plunging neckline.

“Camilla told me, ‘The birds suit you well’,” she said.

Outside, as she posed for photos with the tall women, the Duchess joked: “I should have worn higher heels.”

Later, the royal couple sampled local organic red wine.
