Danczuk’s exes at war over a new threat to his career
As MP’s first wife describes him as sexually perverted, his selfie-loving second opens fire in his defence
THE first wife of Simon Danczuk, the MP caught up in a sex-text scandal, last night claimed he was an abusive husband, pestered her for sex and took drugs.
Sonia Rossington, 39, accused Mr Danczuk of being a “sexual predator” during their 10 year marriage. She told
The Mail On Sunday her ex-husband “relentlessly pestered her for sex” and wanted to “spank” her.
Mr Danczuk, 49, MP for Rochdale, has been suspended from the Labour Party for sending salacious text messages to a 17-year-old girl.
The disclosures raise the prospect he could be expelled from the party, effectively ending his political career.
Mrs Rossington told the paper: “Sexually he was quite perverted. He introduced me to pornography shortly after we married and wanted to tie me up and cane me. He also liked to use poppers – amyl nitrite – as he said that made the sex better. “I was completely controlled by him. It was a form of domestic violence, without the hitting. I think he never hit me because he was usually too stoned.”
She said she was considering changing their daughter’s surname to protect her from her exhusband’s “stupidity”.
Earlier she had said: “Once I divulge this information, it does not matter if the Labour Party has suspended him or not, he will never ever have a political career again. It will end it, from the moment I open my mouth.”
His second wife, Karen Danczuk, last night accused Mrs Rossington of “degrading” behaviour for allegedly selling “seedy sex stories” about their marriage.
Ms Danczuk, 32, dubbed the Selfie Queen for posting revealing photographs of herself on Twitter, separated from her husband last summer, but has leapt to his defence in recent days. Yesterday she posted a flurry of messages on Twitter, criticising Mrs Rossington. She wrote: “You slam the Dad for embarrassing the kids but then sell your story about your sex life with their Dad to the highest bidder?? Ok love KD.”
In a second post, she said: “Do all these ex’s think they come across well degrading themselves selling stories to Sunday papers about their sex life?”
In a third, five minutes later, she wrote: “Think what you like about me but I’m only ex who hasn’t sold seedy sex stories to papers for a quick buck! We now see their true colours!.”
Ms Danczuk divorced her husband a few days ago, having separated in June. They met in 2006 when Mr Danczuk was married to his first wife. He and Mrs Rossington divorced in 2010.
Mr Danczuk, a campaigner against child abuse who wrote a book exposing Sir Cyril Smith, the former Rochdale MP, as a serial paedophile, was suspended by Labour after he admitted sending explicit text messages to Sophena Houlihan, 17, after she asked to do casework in his constituency offices.
