Osborne – follow Cameron and go

How appropriate that, hours before a Commons select committee accused him of promoting the rise of Islamic State in the Levant through his policy in Libya, David Cameron chose to leave public life. It is a blow we must bear as best we can. Yet on Friday his shameful crony, George Osborne, whom Mrs May deservedly sacked when detoxifying the Tory party, tried to launch his “comeback” with a new think tank. Mr Osborne should indeed think: of the stain on his reputation for the monstrous lies he told during the referendum, as the main architect of “project fear”, and should leave public life himself, for good.
