MP delivers labour plan as wife gives birth early

-

A Labour MP delivered his own daughter on the floor at home as his wife gave birth more quickly than expected.

Conor McGinn, 32, delivered Neasa Constance in their own living room after “a crash course in midwifery over the phone with a 999 call-handler”.

The MP for St Helens North announced the birth on Facebook, saying “mum and baby are doing very well”. He added: “Those ‘Labour delivers all year round’ leaflets will take on a new meaning in St Helens.”
