Duke’s helicopter had near miss

-

An air ambulance regularly piloted by the Duke of Cambridge came within half a second of a collision with a remote-controlled drone, an aviation report has revealed.

The UK Airprox Board said that the potential collision, at 1,900ft on Aug 26 last year, was averted by pure “chance”.

The East Anglian air ambulance had three medical staff and two pilots on board. The Duke was not on the helicopter.
