Man held after Monaco gem raid

Police arrested one man and were hunting for two more last night after armed robbers held up a Cartier jewellery store in a central square in Monaco.

Shoppers took refuge in stores and cafés as police set up a security perimeter around the store in the Place du Casino in the heart of the Mediterranean principality. Gunfire was heard around the time of the robbery.
