Trademan’s toil
SIR – Yugo Kovach (Letters, March 19) implies that people choose selfemployment in order to avoid paying National Insurance contributions.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Having been self-employed in the past, I suspect their prevailing motivation is more to do with what they can offer in order to earn a living.
It’s not fair to throw the tradesman’s daily toil in the same basket as those who earn so much that it saves them thousands to declare themselves self-employed. Paul Vlcek Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
