Ethiopian-born, Bronx-raised Erizku offers a thoughtful meditation on America today. Anti-Trump graffiti, gang “tags” and Black Panther logos are deployed in stark, quasiconceptual formats appropriated from classic American modernism, from pop art to hard-edge abstraction – and all to a moody hip-hop soundtrack.
