John Godfrey No 10’s director of policy, Godfrey is a former merchant banker who also worked at Legal & General. He unsuccessfully contested two Scottish seats in the Nineties.
A former aide to Michael Gove, he impressed as junior health minister. He became Cabinet Office minister in July and at 39 is the youngest minister at Cabinet meetings.
He left his role as Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Life Sciences to work more closely with Theresa May. Last year became chairman of her policy board.
Nick Timothy Joined Mrs May in the Home Office in 2010, then became head of a freeschool charity. Worked on her campaign to be leader. Now joint chief of staff.
