Isil kills rival Taliban leader in Pakistan
A senior Afghan Taliban official has been killed with two other men by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) in a rare clash between the rival groups inside Pakistan.
Maulvi Daud was attacked on the outskirts of the north-west city of Peshawar.
The Isil had earlier claimed responsibility for the “assassination of a Taliban leader”. It has been forced into retreat in Syria, but has made inroads into Afghanistan despite tough resistance from the Taliban as well as US and Afghan special forces.
