Failed by family courts
SIR – You report (April 20) the story of Sheila Griffin, who killed herself after battling the family court to see her children.
Resolving the inadequacies of the family court system would mean less pain for many – and fairness for mothers and fathers after separation. It is also a very expensive process (I know this, having been through it) and many parents cannot afford to fight for their children.
My heart goes out to anyone who feels they have no other choice but take their life. Support is there, but it’s so hard to access. Gary Martin London E17
