Kittens survive 311 miles hidden under car bonnet
Three kittens survived a 311-mile trip stowed under a car bonnet after hitching a ride from the Netherlands.
Christian Lampkin and his family were totally unaware the six-week-old cats had climbed aboard. The family had been staying at a holiday park in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and left their car unused.
Two days after arriving home, Mr Lampkin heard meowing and looked under the bonnet where he found the kittens.
The animals – named Edam, Gouda and Tulip – were handed to the Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre in Reading, Berks.
They have now been placed in quarantine.
