Ella Enchanted (2004)

Anne Hathaway is wonderful as Ella, resident in the kingdom of Frell whose fairy godmother (Minnie Driver) casts an obedience spell on her that means she becomes a Cinderella slave to her stepmother and stepsisters (Joanna Lumley and Lucy Punch among them). Hugh Dancy is dashing as Frell’s Prince, and the story is a quirky take on happily ever after. There is also a cracking scene with giants dancing to Queen.
