No room for manoeuvre in crowded car parks
SIR – Can I make a plea for wider spaces in car parks?
Many people have mobility problems which aren’t sufficiently serious for them to be classified as disabled, but which make things awkward in most car parks. A few extra inches would be welcome. Peter McPherson

SIR – Roy Hughes (Letters, April 1) counted 112 road signs in 1.3 miles on the A38 in Birmingham. I do hope he was a passenger in the vehicle at the time. John Newbury

SIR – I passed the village of Shilbottle on the A1 last weekend. I counted nine signs going north and six going south, two or three with the “l” slightly modified. Michael Grave
