Family outing

SIR – I see no reason to have time limits on supermarkets’ “parent and child” spaces, so that elderly people can use them (Letters, April 15).

If I drive my parents to the supermarket, by definition we are still “parents and child” and can therefore use these spaces with impunity. Anyone who suggests otherwise is clearly guilty of age discrimination. Richard Packer
