SIR – I see no reason to have time limits on supermarke­ts’ “parent and child” spaces, so that elderly people can use them (Letters, April 15).

If I drive my parents to the supermarke­t, by definition we are still “parents and child” and can therefore use these spaces with impunity. Anyone who suggests otherwise is clearly guilty of age discrimina­tion. Richard Packer
