Walking out of useless meetings is a risky move in the real world
If you’re Elon Musk, possessor of $20.8 billion (£14.8 billion), convinced you’re the one to get humans living on Mars and the inventor not only of a spacecraft for doing so, but of the world’s most successful electric car, then I can see why the idea of sitting in unproductive meetings doesn’t fly.
A leaked email last week revealed Musk telling staff working on the Tesla 3 to boost productivity by walking out of such summits and, if it helps them to use their time better, to ignore line managers and break company rules.
