Police inquiry after teenager dies in field

A teenager has died and three others were taken to hospital after being found in a field in Rochdale.

Emergency services were called to a field near Dewhirst Road at about 11.15am yesterday.

One teenage boy died at the scene and three teenagers were taken to hospital for treatment, Greater Manchester Police said.

A spokesman said: “Inquiries into whether there were any suspicious circumstances around this boy’s death are ongoing.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in contact.
