Round the bend
SIR – If Bob Stebbings (Letters, May 13) is “discombobulated” by the gizmos in his car, I hope he never drives the vehicle we recently hired in Cyprus.
On start-up, it only showed Japanese characters on the information screen, and we didn’t turn on the sat nav. We were then intrigued, when pulling into the parking area of an archeological site, to be told in English to exercise caution as we were approaching a level crossing – even though there are no train lines in Cyprus and thus no level crossings.
When we looked at the sat nav it showed a map of a large city. That car was more than a little confused. Janet Haines
