Sixth man in court over ‘acid attack’ on boy
A SIXTH person has appeared in court in connection with a suspected acid attack on a three-year-old boy.
Saied Hussini appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster yesterday charged in connection with a suspected “deliberate” assault on a child.
The incident happened on July 21 while the youngster was in his pushchair with his mother and other children at a Home Bargains store in the Shrub Hill Retail Park of the town last Saturday.
The child suffered serious burns to his face and an arm and was discharged from hospital the following day.
It is not known whether the youngster will suffer long-term effects as a result of his injuries.
The boy and his mother are now “in a place of safety”, according to prosecutors.
Mr Hussini, who is an Afghan national, was charged on Friday with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.
The 41 year-old was arrested on Thursday at an address in Harlesden, north-west London, and appeared at Kidderminster magistrates’ court yesterday morning.
Five other men, including the injured boy’s 39-year-old father, appeared in court on Wednesday charged in connection with the incident.
Adam Cech, 27, and Jan Dudi, 25, both from Birmingham, Norbert Pulko, 22, from London, and Jabar Paktia, 41, from Wolverhampton, all appeared at Kidderminster magistrates’ court alongside the fifth man, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
All defendants were remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Aug 28.
Hussini appeared in court wearing a grey sweatshirt, and spoke only to confirm his name, address, date of birth and nationality. There was no application for bail made on his behalf.
