In mourn­ing

Rel­a­tives cried and held each other for sup­port as hun­dreds of Egyp­tian Cop­tic Chris­tians gath­ered for a funeral ser­vice to mourn six of the seven peo­ple killed when mil­i­tants am­bushed buses car­ry­ing pil­grims on their way to a re­mote desert monastery. The ser­vice at Prince Tadros church, in the city of Minya, was held amid tight se­cu­rity yes­ter­day. All but one of the dead, who in­cluded chil­dren aged 15 and 12, were of the same fam­ily, ac­cord­ing to a list of names re­leased by the church.
