Merseyside stab victim ‘knew killer’ say police
Murder detectives are hunting a man after a woman was stabbed to death in her home in Merseyside yesterday.
Paramedics and an air ambulance crew were unable to save the 29-yearold after she was discovered at a residence in Swan Avenue, St Helens, around midday. Police said the victim had been stabbed repeatedly and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Det Chief Insp Ian Warlow of Merseyside Police said: “At present we are in the very early stages of an ongoing investigation, but we believe the offender is known to the victim and a search is ongoing to find him. Officers are carrying out house-tohouse inquiries.”
