Three children rescued from flooded cave

-

Three children have been rescued by coastguards after becoming trapped in a sea cave on the Scottish coast.

A 12-year-old boy, who was with two girls aged 11 and 12, called 999 after the tide started flooding into the Eye Cave in Dunbar, East Lothian where they were playing yesterday. The water was up to their ankles by the time the coastguards reached them.

HM Coastguard’s Jonathan Mustard said: “Other than being a bit shaken and having wet feet, the children were unharmed by their ordeal.”
