Razor blades found taped to children’s slide

Vandals taped razor blades to a slide at a play area in a village park. A video released by Ormskirk and Burscough police shows three blades taped to the slide in Aughton, west Lancashire, attached at angles designed to cause serious damage.

Shelagh Storey, 56, from Aughton, said: “What happened here is shocking. No one knows how the blades got there. The play area is used by really young children.”

A police spokesman said: “There are no reports so far of anyone being injured or coming to any harm from these blades. We would ask everyone to be vigilant and check equipment before you let your child use it.”
