Trio who fled from police and hid in bed are jailed
Three teenagers who fled from a police helicopter before being found huddled up in bed pretending to be asleep have been jailed.
The trio was sentenced to a total of seven years and two months at Luton Crown Court over a burglary in June.
After receiving reports of young people acting suspiciously, police tracked four teenagers to a house. Inside, officers found the trio, and a 16-year-old who cannot be named, undressed and pretending to be asleep “alongside stolen jewellery”.
Despite sharing two beds between them, the boys denied knowing one another or having any involvement in the burglary.
