But should comedy be a young man’s game?
Robert Redford gets a fondly self-referencing turn as real-life bank robber Forrest Tucker, who smoothly charmed his way in and out of even more small-town heists than the Sundance Kid. Basking indulgently in Redford’s golden-oldie star wattage, young director David Lowery’s film errs on the languid side, but Sissy Spacek steals every scene she’s in as a sympathetic widow.
