‘I’m partly to blame’ says hit-and-run vic­tim

A pedes­trian has ad­mit­ted she was “partly to blame” for be­ing knocked un­con­scious dur­ing a hit-and-run in Welling­bor­ough, Northants, on New Year’s Eve, be­cause she was us­ing her mo­bile phone at the time.

Olivia Keane, 20, has warned other pedes­tri­ans star­ing at mo­bile phones “is not worth it in the slight­est” af­ter she suf­fered se­vere rib and pelvic bruises and cuts to her face.

A po­lice spokesman said: “It is be­lieved the woman was knocked un­con­scious af­ter be­ing in a col­li­sion with a ve­hi­cle and she may have been at the road­side for sev­eral min­utes be­fore re­gain­ing con­scious­ness.”
