German paratroopers infiltrate a Norfolk village and try to kidnap Winston Churchill in this ripping war yarn. Michael Caine plays it as straight as he can as a Nazi colonel, but he’s wonderfully overtaken by OTT turns from Robert Duvall in an eye-patch, Donald Pleasence as Heinrich Himmler, and Donald Sutherland as an IRA terrorist who falls in love with Jenny Agutter.
