The 11 crimes once linked to killer Patrick Mackay

1967: Aged 15, Mackay is diagnosed as a psychopath by a psychiatri­st and committed to Moss Side hospital for four years.

1972:

1973: Heidi Mnilk, 17, a German au pair, is stabbed to death before being thrown on to the tracks near New Cross station in London. Mackay allegedly confessed, but later withdrew his confession.

1973: Mary Hynes beaten to death in her Kentish Town apartment. Mackay charged, crime lay on file. 1974: Frank Goodman, a 62-year-old shopkeeper, was bludgeoned to death at his premises in Rock Street, Finsbury Park. Mackay charged, crime lay on file.

1974: Sarah Rodwell, 92, was beaten to death on her doorstep in Hackney. Mackay allegedly confessed; later withdrew.

1974: Café owner Ivy Davies is beaten to death in her home. Mackay allegedly confessed, but later withdrew.

1975: Mackay, who had previously befriended Father Anthony Crean, hacks him to death with an axe. Manslaught­er.

1975: Mackay strangles Adele Price in her home in Lowndes Square, Kensington. Manslaught­er.
