Oliver to lobby PM over children’s healthy food

Jamie Oliver has said he will lobby Boris Johnson on children’s health and nutrition following the collapse of his restaurant chain.

The celebrity chef believes that what his business suffered is nothing unusual and is happening to companies “all over the country” but has pledged it is business as usual in his drive to improve public health.

He will seek to lobby ministers and the Prime Minister, employing an expert team for the task.

Oliver said: “Is child health a central pillar of Britain now and in the future? Yes.” He returns to TV screens with the Channel 4 show Jamie’s Meat-Free Meals early next month and is about to release his latest book, Veg.
