Writer-director Rian Johnson ( Brick, The Last Jedi) has confected a deeply satisfying whodunit worthy of Agatha Christie, with Daniel Craig as the southern sleuth called in, Poirot-style, when an 85-year-old crime writer (Christopher Plummer) is found with his throat slit – and surrounded by an entire family of conniving suspects (including Chris Evans, Toni Collette and Jamie Lee Curtis).
