Two killed in suspected terror attack
TWO people were stabbed to death yesterday in a suspected terrorist attack in a small French town.
A man was arrested minutes after the knife attack, in which four other people were injured in the southern town of Romans-sur-Isère.
Prosecutors said the suspect is a Sudanese asylum seeker, 33, who was not previously known to police.
Witnesses said the assailant shouted: “Allahu akbar.”
David Olivier Reverdy, a police union spokesman, said: “This appears to have all the elements of a terrorist attack. The investigation will confirm whether that is the case.”
The attack began in a tobacconist’s before the assailant went outside and stabbed passers-by in the street.
