French-Iranian academic jailed
Iran has sentenced FrenchIranian academic Fariba Adelkhah to six years in prison, her lawyer said, adding she plans to appeal.
Adelkhah, 61, will serve five years on national security charges and a further year for propaganda against the state. The case of Adelkhah and colleague and partner Roland Marchal, who were arrested last year, has been a thorn in relations between the two nations.
Marchal was released in a “prisoner swap” in March.
