PM gets into sling of things during family’s Scottish break
IN COMMON with hundreds of other families this year, the Prime Minister and his partner Carrie Symonds have been enjoying a staycation, holidaying in the wilds of Scotland with their baby son Wilfred and dog Dilyn.
And by the looks of it they’ve been having the best of the Scottish weather.
Ms Symonds last night posted photographs of the three of them enjoying bright sunshine along the Scottish coast, with her in T-shirts and shorts and Mr Johnson in shirtsleeves and hiking boots carrying his son in a sling.
It is thought the photographs were taken close to a remote nature reserve on the west coast, with Ms Symonds telling friends she was keen to escape the attention of photographers who have been attempting to spot them during their holiday.
As if to get her own back on the press snappers trying to get shots of their break, Ms Symonds posted several photographs of her own on the social media platform Instagram.
It was reported on Friday that the couple spent their holiday in a “glamping” tepee in the grounds of a £1,200-a-week three-bedroom rental house in Lonbain, Applecross.
Farmer Kenny Cameron claims that Mr Johnson had pitched the tent in his field without permission, saying: “Usually if people want to go inside a fenced area they ask for permission first, but I was not asked at all.”
No10 staff reportedly apologised to Mr Cameron, telling him that they and the PM thought the field was part of the cottage.
But judging by the smiles on their faces, Ms Symonds and her fiancé did not let any grumbling about them trespassing ruin their Scottish break.
The photographs were posted with the comment “Glorious Scotland” and an emoji of the Saltire flag, after reports they had been forced to cut short their holiday and return to London following concern over the security risk of the whereabouts of their holiday being made public.
