Northumberland artist Frances Bell pictured with her children and the self portrait that won her this year’s £20,000 William Lock Portrait Prize at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition. Judges described the work as and having “a real feeling for paint and its aesthetic potential”.
