SIR – At home in Staffordshire, the lane which runs past our cottage is often festooned with fast-food detritus. How refreshing, then, to be holidaying in the Cotswolds where, on a walk to the local farm shop, we came upon an abandoned box of Veuve Clicquot on the verge.
