Man who stole from his family’s care firm jailed

-

A 24-year-old man has been jailed for six years after stealing almost £200,000 from his family business.

Bradley Young’s fraud was discovered when one of his relatives, who owned the care company, saw the figures did not add up and employed an accountant to find out why.

Young, from Waterlooville, Hants, appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court having admitted fraud by abuse of position. He was finance manager at Platinum Care at Home between 2018 and June 2020.

The company’s owner told police in July 2020 that Young had transferred £173,183 to his personal bank account during the course of his employment.
