CCTV shows Plymouth gunman on prowl

- By Daily Telegraph Reporter

VIDEO footage has emerged of the Plymouth attack showing the shooter casually walking onto his next target moments after killing four others.

Jake Davison was caught on CCTV walking towards Henderson Place, where he killed 66-year-old Kate Shepherd outside a hair salon.

In the footage, Davison can be seen emerging from behind a tree as he crosses the road, carrying a gun which is lowered by his side.

He walks past a house and crosses the road in the direction of Ms Shepherd. This is where the footage ends. A separate clip recovered from a dash cam in a parked car shows Ms Shepherd being comforted by a passer-by. However, she died later from her wounds at Derriford Hospital.

Davison then walks further down Henderson Place where he turned the gun on himself. In total, six people died in the mass shooting, including the attacker.

Witnesses described the firearm as a “pump-action shotgun”.

In a statement released on Friday, Devon and Cornwall Police said Davison was legally allowed to have the weapon.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct will investigate the force over Davison’s possession of a shotgun and shotgun certificate.

They were returned to him only last month after being removed in September last year following an allegation of assault.

Davison also killed his mother Maxine Davison, 51, alongside Sophie Martyn, three, her father Lee Martyn, 43 and Stephen Washington, 59.
