A three-year-old boy has died in hospital almost a week after a crash on the M4 near Newport.
The youngster had been travelling in a car on the motorway’s westbound carriageway when it was in a collision with a van on Feb 5. The crash saw a huge emergency services response.
Family of the little boy, described as “wonderful” and “a kind soul”, said he died at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, on Friday at 4.30pm.
Van driver Martin Newman, 41, accused of causing death by dangerous driving, was remanded into custody pending a hearing on Feb 21.
