Shark bite victim’s family pay tribute
The family of a British man mauled to death by a great white shark near Sydney have paid tribute, describing him as a “wonderful human being”.
Simon Nellist, 35, became the first victim of a fatal shark attack in 60 years in Sydney when he was killed in Little Bay on Wednesday. His family described him as “gentle” and “kind” and a “very talented photographer”.
Baited drum lines have been deployed to catch the shark and move it into deeper waters, with beaches closed. Mr Nellist had spoken out against the controversial methods now being used to catch the predator.
