RAF faces police inquiry after parachutist’s death
Police are investigating the RAF on suspicion of corporate manslaughter after the death of a parachute instructor.
Sgt Rachel Fisk, 32, jumped out of a plane that was flying at 12,000ft above RAF Weston-on-the-Green, Oxon, when her canopy reportedly failed to open on Sept 2 last year.
Det Insp Mike Roddy told an inquest into her death in Oxford: “An incident room led by a senior investigating officer continues to investigate corporate manslaughter, gross misconduct manslaughter and serious offences under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.”
