Sacked NatWest worker ‘targeted by burglars’

-

A sacked bank worker in a longrunning dispute with NatWest for keeping the financial details of 1,600 customers under her bed has claimed she was targeted by burglars.

The woman, who has not been named, told the BBC she had kept the documents at her home in Southampton for more than 10 years, after being sent home with them as part of her job selling mortgages.

She claimed two men tried to break into her property on Feb 12, making her panic about what might become of the data.

A NatWest spokesman said: “[We do] not believe this historical documentation poses [a] risk to customers.”
