Tennis star and chef attend Beckham’s golden ball
SERENA WILLIAMS, Eva Longoria and Gordon Ramsay were among the guests at the star-studded wedding of Brooklyn Beckham and billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz yesterday.
Mr Beckham, 23, the eldest son of David and Victoria, and Ms Peltz, 27, said their vows in a $3 million (£2.3 million) ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida.
The couple signed a magazine deal that barred attendees from posting images or any details of the event on social media. But a handful of celebrity guests were pictured at a rehearsal dinner ahead of the ceremony.
Royal observers speculated that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, whose wedding the Beckhams attended, could have made an appearance. It was reported that Annie Leibovitz would photograph the event, held at Ms Peltz’s $76 million family holiday home.
The Palm Beach mansion was used as the location of a re-election fundraiser for Donald Trump. Ms Peltz’s father Nelson later withdrew his support for the former president after the Jan 6 Capitol insurgency.
Mr Beckham and Ms Peltz announced their engagement in 2020, and postponed a planned ceremony in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The US wedding is expected to be followed by another “no expenses spared” ceremony in the UK. Fashion designer Victoria said she was looking forward to “an exciting weekend ahead of us”.
Billionaire Mr Peltz made his fortune after turning his family’s small food business into the largest frozen food distributor in the north east of the US.
He is worth an estimated £1.3bn, dwarfing the Beckhams’ £350m fortune. The couple have reportedly signed a prenuptial agreement.
Also yesterday, Jennifer Lopez announced her engagement to Ben Affleck, 18 years after they ended their relationship for the first time.
The 52-year-old posted online a video of herself admiring an emerald-cut pale green diamond ring.
