Quacking phone helps ducklings to safety

-

Five ducklings have been rescued from a storm drain after rescuers lured them out by playing duck sounds on their mobile phones.

The flock, thought to be around a week old, were trapped after following their mother across a road in Pontypridd, Wales.

A motorist alerted the RSPCA, and a fire crew were then called to lift the drain and lure them out in a two-hour mission. RSPCA inspector Sophie Daniels said: “We started playing duck sounds to entice them back into the main chamber [of the drain] where I could reach them.”
