Hatred will not win, says PM on bomb anniversar­y

Boris Johnson said “hatred will never win” on the fifth anniversar­y of the Manchester Arena terror attack which killed 22 people and seriously injured 264 others.

The Prime Minister added that the “bravery and defiance” shown by Mancunians had “touched the world”.

On May 22, 2017, Salman Abedi detonated a 32kg bomb during an Ariana Grande concert.

Abedi died in the blast and his brother Hashem Abedi was jailed for life with a minimum of 55 years.

Mr Johnson said: “Just as we remember all those taken from us, we must remember and celebrate that triumph of love and community.”
