Digging deep

A statue has been unveiled of palaeontologist Mary Anning, a resident of Lyme Regis in the 19th century, who was known for her discoveries of marine Jurassic fossils in the rocks and cliffs close to the Dorset town. The statue recognising her achievements was established and fought for by local schoolgirl Evie Swire, who raised money for the monument.
