Superyacht fleet history, 1992-2001

• 256 different shipyards delivered at least one superyacht during this period of analysis, as the fleet grew by 52.1 per cent. US shipyards led the way, particularly Broward, which delivered 48 units.

• It was also a period which saw 167 shipyards enter the new-build market for the first time. However, since 2015, just 34 of those shipyards have made a delivery.

• Lürssen completed the biggest project of the decade, delivering the

139.3m Al Salamah in 1999, then the biggest superyacht in the world.
